From the Sacred Heart Catholic School website:
Dear Sacred Heart Community,
We are devastated to inform you that our former headteacher Mr Colin Garvey has sadly passed away. Many of you will remember him as a brilliant and beloved educator who did so much for the school and the local community. The legacy of care, good humour and excellence that he created at Sacred Heart and nurtured lovingly and expertly will live on in his honour.
Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
If you have any messages of condolence that you would like to pass on to the Garvey family then these can be sent by post to the school or via email to office@sacredheart.southwark.sch.uk
Our current headteacher, Mr Lansiquot has paid this tribute to Mr Garvey: "Colin Garvey was a remarkable man and a true friend—not just to me, but to so many people. His kindness, generosity, and dedication touched countless lives, from the Sacred Heart community to Clapham Old Boys and beyond.
“As headteacher of Sacred Heart, I can truly say that I am proud to lead this school because of the impact Colin had. He created the ethos at Sacred Heart that we live by today—his values, his spirit, and his unwavering care for others are woven into the very fabric of our school. Today, tomorrow and always, we will commemorate the legacy of one of the kindest people I have ever known. This is an incredibly difficult time, during which our thoughts and prayers are with the Garvey family. Colin truly was Mr Sacred Heart.”
