Clapham 5 - Seymour Villas 1

Scorers Sam (2), Rups (2) Rio (1)

Seymour villas (sv) captain got times wrong and so the oppo turned up an hour late. The sv captain went in goal. 5 goals were suitable penance for his tardiness.

All the talk of 433 or 343 had been forgotten and Clapham turned out 442. Gordon in goal (how hard could it be), Damo and Dave B centre backs, Steve right back and Jason left back. Center mid Spencer G and Martin, right mid french Joe and James left mid. Up top Rio and Isacc.

Clapham opened with a slick move with Rio scoring. Clapham gave a free 5 yards from the goal...mix up on the pass pack rule. The oppo scored. Clapham then took control with a goal from Sam who calmly took a few extra touches before rifling in the second. Second half on came adam, Rups and Wes, Clapham dominated possession as in the first. Rups on for the second half. Rups showed some Zidane skills piroete before sinking his first goal (cries of zizu). Then scored a fantastic goal from a round the corner pass from Joe and Rups chipped the keeper from 25 yards. Sam finished off the scoring.

Tight defence and awesome midfield and some fantastic forward play from Rio and Rups.

In fact, everyone played a blinder. It's hard to choose a motm. So for the first half have to give it to Rio for his runs, hold up play and goal. Second half to rups for his 2 goals. Notable mention for Joe in the second half and on any other day martin would have had motm nailed on.

Clapham Vets 1 - Clapham 1st XI 2

The vets turned out in a 35 2. Sam and Jason playing as wing backs.

Even game over all but the ones had 10 and we had 11.

First goal to the 1's. Ball over the top....vets keeper rushed to cut out but a partial save allowed the 1's mid fielder with a tap in. The vets equaliser was goal kick in to centre mid with martin taking down the ball neatly turning and playing a defence splitting ball to Rio who neatly finished. Second half the 1's finished stronger and got a deserved winner. The vets were a little leggy from the first game in the second half.

Notable mention that Sam played the wing back position to tactical perfection.

First half motm martin second half motm Issac who showed touches of composed class (and no screaming ?).

The best part of today was being with you guys and the bantz at the end was off the scale...?.

Also big thank you to Steve, Eddie and Sam for pitch lining and for James Allen for taking the kit.
