Dear Member,

The Chairman's Luncheon XXII
Friday 26th January 2018 from 12 Noon
‘The England Suite’, The Oval, Kennington, London SE11 5SS

I write to invite you to join me once again in January for our annual lunch. I look forward to welcoming you at an event which is always first class. Your committee has worked hard this year to elevate the standard of the fare on offer; we hope it meets your approval. The continuing success of our lunch, as always, is a tribute to you and your contemporaries. Please help by contacting your class mates and those old boys you may see and organise a table. Also note the important details below the menu.

Our speaker this year is Sean Brennan who taught English at Clapham College from 1970 to 1985.

Lunch will be served at 1:15 p.m. and you will be served the meat course unless you have indicated, on the enclosed form, that you require the vegetarian option.

.oOo.
Smoked Mackerel rillette, pickled fennel, croute
Vegetarian Starter – Gazpacho terrine, broad bean & Frisse salad
.oOo.
Pan seared chicken, dauphinoise, confit carrot, thyme jus
Vegetarian - Open wild mushroom, stilton tart, rucola and sun blushed tomato salad, sweet balsamic glaze
.oOo.
Sticky toffee pudding, salted caramel ice-cream
.oOo.
Tea or Coffee

This cost of the event is £55.00. Please pay on-line (see website) or make cheques payable to ‘COXA’ and return the completed form to Mick Power, 9 Cheviot Close, Sutton, Surrey SM2 5SB. Please respond by 15th December and bookings will close by Monday 15th January 2018. No tickets will be issued for this event. A list of attendees will be regularly updated on the Association’s website.

Please note that this event will sell out and everyone who pays before the deadline will be guaranteed a seat.

Last year sponsorship to cover the cost of real ale was a great success and if you are able to sponsor a barrel please indicate on the attached form. I will be among the sponsors. This initiative helps the Association to offset that which would otherwise be a loss-making event.

Any enquiries concerning the function should be made to Eddie O’Brien. (eddieobrien@tesco.net - mobile 07891 713693). Every effort will be made to update the website with members attending. If you are unsure of your membership status please contact Scotty Macdonald, membership secretary, (donmiamac1234@sky.com)

Wishing you a Happy Christmas. See you at the Oval in January.

David Leathem
Chairman

The England Suite is located on the 2nd Floor in OSC Stand at the Vauxhall End of the ground, Harleyford Road. Enter through the Alec Stewart Gate. (There is no access to the OCS Stand by the Hobbs Gate entrance)
