Football Award Winners + Our 1st XI get PROMOTED...Senior Division 1 awaits!

Gentlemen,

Firstly, what a night Saturday night was for our end of season awards ceremony. Thank you all of you that could make the evening, we had 100+ filling the function room of the Balham Bowls Club. I hope your other halves enjoyed the evening too. Also, big thanks to Ewan Leathem and his band for playing on the evening. Well done to our award winners.

1st team player of the year IAN HOLLAND
2nd team player of the year WES MONFORD
3rd team player of the year HAMISH HARMER
4th team player of the year MICHAEL HART
VETS Players of the Year ANDY BRANNON

Young player of the Year: ATHAN SMITH-JOSEPH
Clubman of the year: MIKE GARVEY
Club Player of the Year: REECE DAVIS

Secondly, Our 1st XI got PROMOTED!! Great achievement by Matt Benedict and the boys. Some of the football played this year was brilliant, well done lads, Senior division 1 awaits!

Only 2 games being played this weekend- the 1st XI and the Vets. The 1st XI are playing their final game of the season away against Tenisons. Also, it will be the final time in a COXA shirt for 1st XI centre back Jason Kearins aka The Kearn dog. He leaves in the summer for a job in Dubai. Good luck Kearnsey.

We are still in desperate need for a new Fixtures secretary and a new club treasurer; as both Mike Garvey and Nick 'Giggsy' Armitage are stepping down from their respective roles. We need these roles filled in order for the club to go into next season, if you fancy stepping up to the plate, please put your name in the ring, don't assume someone else will! As club captain getting these roles filled is URGENT.

I'm signing off for the season fellas, thank you very much for a successful season. I'll be in touch with potential details of combining some inter club footy matches/BBQ/watching Euro 2016 games at the club. Feel free to submit any suggestions via your captains. If not, see you for pre-season.

Chris McLoughlin

Club Captain

Gents,
I can't stop thinking about the great COXA Football Function on Saturday. Full attendance 100 + ( when did we last have to tell the 40 people at the back to be quiet???). Stories of success through all 5 teams. Brilliantly chaired by Chris!
