COXA Team Sheet for Saturday 12th January 2019

1 week ago By Frank Barretta

Hi All,
Here are this weekends fixture details.
Also below is the first match report of 2019 from last weekends 3s football antics and tales of that nature.
A reminder that the last Friday of the month of January is none other than Chairman's lunch. All the details you need are included within the attached. Get yourself down for a day that won't disappoint (albeit is boozy and mostly a gentleman's affair so if dry January and woman are you think please still pay and attend but you may be mildly disappointed).
All the best,
3s 5th January 2019

COXA's 2019 has started with a bang...don't know if it's all these dry January's or all these veganuarys that are going around...but there was a real spark in the step of the coxa men.

That was until after the first 5 mins.

Hamptonians were the oppo adorned in their ghastly yellow kit, and scored with their first attack. us.

Coxa pushed back and Harmer had a shot saved smartly by the keeper. A sign of things to come?

Definitely, as soon Coxa equalised with a through ball that Harmer took round the keeper, smartly pulled back and found Turns, who had time to compose himself and finish.

COXA pushed and had the better of the oppo but couldn't get their goal, but it was nearly a goal at the other end just before half time, but Critchlow dived to his right to push away at his near post.

The message at half time was to push on and do more of the what did we do??? The opposite.

Hamptonians had long spells with the ball (once we had one) (thanks Russell for popping the ball), and nearly made the breakthrough. Games sometimes hinge on moments like this, so when the striker found himself through one on one, Critchlow saved with his foot to keep the game at 1-1. That spurred coxa on and swung the game in our favour. Pressure and half chances came our way, but try as we might, we couldn't find a goal.

Tempers started to flare, as you would expect with a bottom of the table clash, however, you don't expect dicks to make dick moves. Cards started to fly out the refs pocket, all for the oppo.

COXA kept their composure and with less than 5 to go grabbed the goal they deserved. A well worked peice of play on the left hand side resulted in a fizzing cross from Russ, with Turner there to poke home.

The next 5 minutes turned into a brawl as the oppo lost their heads. Reckless tackles, pushing, shoving, 2 yellows, and then a red for grabbing someone by the throat.

As the final whistle went, jubilation struck and Instagram stories were flowing of the coxa result!

Top class work. Dry January be fu$ked, I want a drink!
