Hey All,

Both the 2s and 3s have a break this weekend with no fixture scheduled, so only 1s, 4s and Vets in action. Last weekends results:
COXA I 2 -vs- 2 Queen Mary College OB
COXA II 2 -vs- 1 Reigatians II
COXA III 1 -vs- 13 National Westminster Bank
COXA IV 2 -vs- 0 Old Crosbeians
The 3s have been suffering due to restructure of teams earlier in the season and a lack of a goalkeeper, hence the scoreline above but the good news is a goalkeeper signing is complete and we expect more positive returns moving forwards.

4s regular match report below.

You'll need no reminding that Sunday is Remembrance Sunday and the annual mass will take place at 11am at SFX Chapel, Malwood Road, closest tube Clapham South.

Also it's getting to the time of year that one needs a scarf. Don't forget to message me if you fancy buying one. COXA blue and yellow colours with the crest at both ends. They are likely to be trending on social media soon so get them while you can.

Enjoy the weekend, Up the Clapham!
Luke

4s report 3rd November (foreward R Critchlow)

It was at the Bush Elms centre last season where a certain ginger bearded keeper exclaimed the 'the bakery' was shut.

That was alnost a year ago, I reckon, and COXA today enter the game off the back of back to back clean sheets.

Today's opponents were the Crosbys. Bill and Bing.

Sunny but a bitter wind...And of course, goose poo welcomed COXA.

A tight affair saw both teams trade attacks but with no real volition. It was only until half way through the first half when Bing was slow off his line on a through ball and Harmer nodded over the keeper for 1-0.

It remained tight and just before half time Critchlow kept it at 1-0 after a free kick caught Clapham out and the striker had a free header, but Critchlow pushed it wide.

Half time and time to talk about something that bothered me all game. Whilst, I care not about what numbers people wear (Chris Cole in 11 at cb), what I do care about is Andy Howell, one of the shortest players on the pitch wearing what I can only think is a xxl shirt. I swear it slowed him down a bit, as it was acting like a parachute.

Second half starts and it remains very tight still.

Harmer had a shot saved then got crunched by their keeper (bing). Although for the way he went down, you may have mistaken him for getting shot by a sniper. To be fair...it looked painful.

Next to the best moment of the game...Jamie Morris, makes a lovely tackle on the edge of the area. Falls down, but traps the ball inbetween his feet and clears his lines by doing a scorpion 'flick'. A Jay Buckerfield moment of the week, if ever I saw one.

Next up is something as beautiful and as rare as....an eclipse, or a 4 leaf clover.

Whitts gets fouled and as standard, Tommy puts the ball down. Whipping in a teasing inswinging ball, it evades all the defenders and the strikers, Bing can't get near it and the ball flys in. A Tommy goal. Scenes of jubilation from the whole team, as they congratulate him. If you don't buy a ticket, you won't win the raffle.

The game was being managed but still Crosbies pushed for a goal. It wasn't until the very last kick of the game that they had another crack of the whip. Thankfully, Critchlow was on hand again to save low to his left.

Full time whistle. 3 clean sheets in a row, including extra time, that's 5 hours without conceding. Pretty impressive stuff chaps.

Decent effort once again from everyone on the pitch.

Now, time to go....bye bye
