CLAPHAM OLD XAVERIANS CRICKET SEASON 2018
Promotion to the Premier Division
The 2018 season for Clapham Old Xaverians (COX) Cricket Club has been a very successful one. Playing a total of 15 games (one washed out) the team managed to win nine with an overall average of 14.87 and 223 points (these included 43 bonus points and no penalty points), thereby ensuring promotion to the Premier Division for the 2019 season.
Out of 15 games played through the season, COX used 23 players in total; with seven players making ten or more appearances. There were a further five who played a total of nine games. There were times when COX struggled to field a full a team. So a special thank you to those who stepped in at the last minute or went out of their way to help the team out. Where would we be without a leader! We say thanks to Richard McIntosh who marshalled the troops for the past few years. He led from the front in all aspects and this is evident in COXs promotion this season.
Finally a big thank you to all players who played a part in the Clubs promotion – Contribution no matter how big or small is vital especially in a team sport like cricket!
